Where are you placing your value?

Where you spend your time and your money says a lot about your priorities

Over the last few days, I was blessed with the opportunity to spend time with one of my dearest friends. During our time together, we of course laughed, cried, and made many new memories. However, we also spent a lot of intentional time discussing what was important to us and how we play that out in our lives. My dad growing up used to always say that you can tell what a person ACTUALLY values based on where they spend their time and their money. Those are two of our most valuable resources and if we did an audit of where you spent those things, what would it say about you and your life? You can say you value your family, but how intentional are you in carving out time for them? You can say that you value your health, but how are you eating, spending time being active, and taking time to go to the doctor for preventative care that we know is more effective then not? This really hit me hard as we were chatting of reflecting on where I have been spending my time too.

I am a person that is very achievement and accomplishment driven, to a fault sometimes and often times neglect myself and or my relationships in the process. Over the last 6 months or so I have really been working on how I allocate my time to ensure I am pouring into myself physically and spiritually as well as setting boundaries for my relationships and expectations of myself. I am in no way perfect but want what I proclaim to be my values to align with where I spend my time and money. I want to invest more into the people and causes around me that matter and one way I will be doing that is through more intentional structuring and planning of my days and weeks.

What about you? Where are there areas in your life that your spoken values lack alignment with where you are spending your time and money? What are ways you can fix that?

If you want to chat to see if there are ways that I can support or connect you with friends of mine that rock, book a virtual coffee chat! Let me see how I can help! We cannot get our time back and investing in ourselves and the people around us is rarely in vein.
