Wellness Across All Dimensions of Our Lives

I know many months back I went through and did an in depth deep dive on each of the areas of wellness but thought it was important to come back through. This is a topic that I think is important to revisit regularly and I am taking into writing my book (which starts tomorrow). You all know if you have ever heard me talk that I am a huge proponent of wellness and insuring that we are showing up authentically in different areas of our lives. But really what does that mean? How do you know if you are doing that for yourself?

I want you to take out a piece of paper and write out the following categories of the areas of your life. I want you to write down a few ideas or thoughts of what that area of your life means and then rank yourself from 1-5 how well you are showing up for yourself in that area (1 being not great to 5 being doing amazing). This can be in terms of your habits, choices, how you’re pouring into yourself or lack thereof. All of these areas are interconnected but we are going to separate them for this.

1) Physical- this is the easiest area most of us thinks- exercise, water intake, sleep, nutrition

2) Emotional- recognizing and expressing your emotions in a healthy way, giving space for others people emotions as you have space, emotional regulation

3) financial- resource allocation- financial, time, and energy, having enough money to meet all your needs, giving back financially to the places you want to

4) environmental- being outside but also how you have your own environments set up for your success (home and work)

5) vocational- this is the one that focuses on your job, it is one area of our life (even if there is cross over into others)

6) intellectual- growing your ability to learn and grow intellectually, learning a new skill or knowledge, challenging yourself intellectually

7) social- building and maintaining healthy social relationships amongst different kinds of circles (friends, acquaintances, romantic, family)

8) spiritual- if you follow a religion, connection to your deepest self, finding deep meaning in your life

How are you doing amongst these areas? Where are you doing the strongest? What are the one or two areas you want to improve upon? How are you going to do that through intentional choices and habits?

Making a change doesn’t happen overnight but you first have to identify where you are and where you want to go in order to make intentional change. If you are comfortable sharing I would love to hear what you are working on? For me, my biggest areas of growth right now are taking physical rest and my setting up my environment to be most beneficial (in terms of set up and planning my systems/calendars).

Check out my episode on AnnaJo Talks podcast talking about intentionality, the podcast episode was such a good one if I do say so myself!

I also will be speaking for the National Association of Women Business Owners Columbus chapter next Friday the 21st: Revenue Revolution: Mastering Service Offerings and Partnerships for Growth (would love to see you there)
