Rest is Productive Too
Hello again friends!
For the last week I have been on vacation, and let me tell you it was much needed. Don’t get me wrong I absolutely love what I get to do and the support I get to bring to my clients. AND rest is still needed. I don’t know if any of you have ever felt guilty or strange around the concept of rest. Like Faith don’t you get it there is more work to be done, you don’t understand how much I have on my to do list. While that may be true, if I have learned anything in my life is that you cannot be on 24/7. Even with planning this vacation, it was hard to wrap my mind around being off for a week, like would my business survive if I took a week off? Would I survive if I took a week off? For so much of life, I have allowed myself (and even done it to myself) to be defined by my outputs- what I do, who I help, and what accomplishments I could add to my resume. However, that has consistently led me to burnout because of lack of recovery, doing work that may not align with my authenticity and values, and forgetting to pour back into myself. The book Sacred Rest changed the way that I saw rest. It is not just physically resting which is important but there are actually 7 areas of rest that we regularly need. For me this last week has been restful in so many ways- being back where I grew up, experiencing some firsts with my sisters in law, spending quality time with friends and family, soaking up some sun, taking a few naps, and mostly disconnecting from work. Honestly I did not know how much I needed this. I always preach to my clients the need for rest but sometimes it is hard to take your own advice. I feel ready to serve and thrive again! What about you? When was the last time you truly rested? How can you find ways to pour back into yourself this week?
Here are some other ways to pour into yourself that are coming up soon:
We are a little over a month out from the “Tapping Into Your Higher Purpose” conference, snag your tickets here! This event will be filled with elevation, inspiration, and education. You do not want to miss it!
There is a free developmental training coming up in May, feel free to check it out!
