Holidays are a time for reflection, celebration, and recharge. I hope that many of you are taking this time to spend time with friends, loved ones, and even alone (yes it is good to have some time to yourself). I also want to voice that it is okay if there is any feeling of stress around the holidays too. It is an exciting time of year AND it feels like they’re are ten thousand additional things on our plates from buying/wrapping presents, give back opportunities with our communities or churches, parties, gatherings, etc. Take a second to breathe… You do not have to do everything for everyone. What is most important to you this time of year? Make a list! You want to enjoy the time too and not be resentful of all the things you feel like you HAVE to do. If you have kiddos they would rather have time with you with you being joyful and desire to create memories then check the extra box of homemade cookies. If you have friends or family that you have locally or even that you are traveling to see, be present with them. Yes you can take pictures, videos, etc but also be intentional with the level of attention you are giving them. Our time together will go by fast and we don’t want to regret it because we are distracted or disconnected.
I also want to take some time to say thank you. I am so thankful for each and every one of you- people that I have met through events, speaking, networking, social media, etc. Each of you has a story and have been able to hear many of yours. I am always grateful for the support, listening to stories, and business connections! The growth of Alo Civitas Consulting has been such a joy each and every day to see ways to help impact change through sharing knowledge, skills, and building capacity amongst the leaders and service providers that I have been able to work with. I truly feel blessed ❤️
